Dear Team Manager or Club Secretary,

Woodley Hammers are one of the leading clubs within the Berks & Bucks FA and have held FA Charter Standard Development Club Status for many years. We are pleased to announce details of this year’s tournament. Having had two successful years at our temporary home at the Berkshire College of Agriculture, now that development works have been completed, we are delighted to announce that we are returning to Bulmershe School, Woodley.

We would like to invite your club to enter this year’s tournament. There will be competitions arranged ranging from Under 7 (i.e. under 7 on 1 September 2009) to Men’s teams together with three girls’ age groups. Last year we had over 290 teams entered covering ten different counties and most age groups were oversubscribed.

The days will be divided as follows:

Saturday 5 June:     Under 7s, 9s, 11s, 13s, 15s, 12s girls, 14s girls, 16s girls

Sunday 6 June:       Under 8s, 10s, 12s, 14s, 16s, 17/18s combined, Men

A maximum of 24 teams will be accepted for each age group.

Under 7s and 8s will play 6 or 7 non-competitive matches as 7-a-side with squads of up to 10 players. Each player will receive a medal.

Under 17/18s combined and Men will play league matches as 5-a-side with squads of up to 7 players. A knockout tournament will then follow. The Under 17/18s winners and runners-up will receive medals. For the Men’s tournament there will be a cash prize for the winners of £140 and £70 for the runners-up.

All other age groups will play league matches as 6-a-side with squads of up to 8 players. After the league stage, all teams will participate in either the main knockout or consolation competition. The winners and runners-up of the main and consolation competitions will receive medals.

Team trophies will be presented to the winners of the main competitive competitions.

Should you wish to accept our invitation please complete an application form and return promptly to the Entries Coordinator at the address on the application form together with your entry fee of £50 for Men’s teams and £30 for all other age-groups. The closing date for entries is 27 May 2010 and are accepted at the discretion of the Entries Coordinator. If entering more than one team please specify team name (e.g. A, B, Reds, Blues, Hawks, Eagles etc). You will either receive emailed confirmation of your entry or notification of an unsuccessful application shortly after the closing date.

Yours faithfully,
